project summary
My intent is to create a documentary that reflects on past examples of student-activism to hopefully inspire today's students* and offer them guidance as to which demonstrative methods may work the best for their cause. I plan to analyze issues stemming from the 1960s to the 2010s and to focus on one topic for each decade (for example, for the 60s I want to study the activism of the Civil Rights Era). I want to interview activists as well as politicians who have acknowledged the efforts of these student leaders to show that the beliefs of younger members of society are not any less valuable than the ideas of older constituents.

"pixar pitch" - fellows meeting 6/5/19
Once upon a time there were students who felt overlooked by the government that was supposed to represent the values and beliefs of all members of society.
Every day they felt impacted by certain issues or wanted to advocate for something that they believed in but weren’t really sure how to approach topics so that they would be acknowledged by the government.
One day, a documentary analyzing the methods and passions of past activists surfaced and the students watched it.
Because of that, the students learned about how prior generations became involved with government and activism and could see how current issues have changed.
Also because of that, the students were made aware of the past methods and have a better idea of which style of activism works best for them.
Until finally, every student believes that they have the right tools to help them make their voice heard.
